Shirley Kern is an abstract painter who lives in Princeton, New Jersey, and creates art in her nearby Hopewell, New Jersey, studio.

She received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Northern Vermont University.

"I am interested in creating an artwork that is alive with emotional interest but has no fixed meaning, open to interpretation by all, similar to works of music and poetry."
